Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Detecting Criteria
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
EK:DTC P2128 THROTTLE/PEDAL POSITION SENSOR/SWITCH "E" CIRCUIT
HIGH INPUT
1. OUTLINE OF DIAGNOSIS
Detect the open or short circuit of accelerator pedal position sensor 2.
Judge as NG if out of specification.
2. COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
(1)
(1) Engine control module (ECM)
(2) Accelerator pedal position sensor
1 signal
3. ENABLE CONDITION
Secondary Parameters
Ignition switch
4. GENERAL DRIVING CYCLE
Always perform the diagnosis continuously.
5. DIAGNOSTIC METHOD
Judge as OK and clear the NG when the malfunction criteria below are met.

Malfunction Criteria
Sensor 1 input voltage
Time Needed for Diagnosis: 100 milliseconds
Malfunction Indicator Light Illumination: Illuminates as soon as a malfunction occurs.
6. DTC CLEAR CONDITION
• When the OK idling cycle is completed 40 times in a row
• When "Clear Memory" is performed (Only with engine stopped)
7. MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT CLEAR CONDITIONS
• When the OK driving cycle is completed three times in a row
• When "Clear Memory" is performed (Only with engine stopped)
