Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)
ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS)
Step
1
CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND OIL
FLOW CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE.
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2) Disconnect the connectors from ECM and
oil flow control solenoid valve.
3) Measure the voltage between ECM and
chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(B137) No. 15 (+) — Chassis ground (–):
(B137) No. 14 (+) — Chassis ground (–):

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND OIL
FLOW CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE.
Measure the resistance of harness between ECM
and oil flow control solenoid valve connector.
Connector & terminal
(B137) No. 15 — (E37) No. 1:
(B137) No. 14 — (E37) No. 2

CHECK OIL FLOW CONTROL SOLENOID
VALVE.
Measure the resistance between oil flow control
solenoid valve terminals.
Terminals
No. 1 — No. 2:
DO:DTC P2096 POST CATALYST FUEL TRIM SYSTEM TOO LEAN BANK 1
Refer to DTC P2097 for diagnostic procedure. <Ref. to EN(STI)(diag)-317, DTC P2097 POST CATALYST
FUEL TRIM SYSTEM TOO RICH BANK 1, Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).>
Check
Is the voltage less than 1 V?
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω? Go to step 3.
Is the resistance between 6 —
12 Ω?

Yes
No
Go to step 2.
Repair the short
circuit to power in
the harness
between the ECM
and oil flow control
solenoid valve con-
nector.
Repair the harness
and connector.
NOTE:
In this case, repair
the following item:
• Open circuit of
the harness be-
tween the ECM
and oil flow control
solenoid valve
connector
• Poor contact of
coupling connector
Repair the poor
Replace the oil
contact of the ECM
flow control sole-
and oil flow control
noid valve. <Ref. to
solenoid valve con-
ME(H4DOTC)-58,
