The CPU has an integrated memory. Information about the capacity of the memory may
be found at the front of the CPU. The memory is divided into the following parts:

Load memory 128kbyte
n
Code memory (50% of the work memory)
n
Data memory (50% of the work memory)
n
Work memory 64kbyte
There is the possibility to extend the work memory to its maximum capacity
128kbyte by means of a VSC.
In this slot you can insert the following storage media:
n
VSD - VIPA SD-Card
External memory card for programs and firmware.
n
VSC - VIPASetCard
External memory card (VSD) for programs and firmware with the possibility to
unlock optional functions like work memory and field bus interfaces.
These functions can be purchased separately.

To activate the corresponding card is to be installed and a Overall reset is to be
established.
To avoid malfunctions, you should use memory cards of VIPA. These cor-
respond to the industrial standard. A list of the currently available VSD
respectively VSC can be found at www.vipa.com
Description
The Ethernet PG/OP channel is physically connected to the Ethernet
interface.
There is no physical connection.
Blinking: Shows Ethernet activity.
The Ethernet interface of the Ethernet PG/OP channel has a transfer
rate of 100Mbit.
The Ethernet interface of the Ethernet PG/OP channel has a transfer
rate of 10Mbit.
