Color profiles and customer created Output Color profiles.
The new Profiles can be set at the Queue or Job level, and are
defined as follows:
XEROX_DCxxxx-Heavy_GCR: this selection will produce
lower quality color prints but will cause the system to use much
less Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow toner, thereby saving the
customer money on CMY consumables. The image quality
differences are found mostly in shadow and midtone areas
where the system uses much more K (black).
XEROX_DCxxxx-Max_GCR: this selection will consume the
least amount of C, M, and Y toner, but will produce lower
quality color prints.
XEROX_DCxxxx-Medium_GCR: this is the selection that is
applied by default. The system will apply this GCR value within
the RIP to all jobs unless the user has selected the Heavy or
Light GCR option.
XEROX_DCxxxx-Light_GCR: this selection will produce high
quality Caucasian skin tones and excellent Highlight colors.
This value will cause the system to use higher amounts of C,
M, and Y toner and very little K in the output. This selection will
yield the best image quality, but it will also use the most CMY
toner, thereby making this the most expensive selection from a
consumables viewpoint.
To use Gray Component Removal, perform the following steps:
1. Double-click on a job in Job Manager, or on a queue in Queue
Manager, depending upon which level you want to apply the
GCR ICC profile. The Job or Queue Properties window will
open.
2. Select the Color tab.
3. Select the [Expert Color...] button. The Expert Color window
displays.
4. Select the Output Color tab within the Expert Color window.
5. From the Output field, make sure the Destination radio button
is selected and choose XEROX_DCxxxx-Heavy_GCR,
XEROX_DCxxxx-Max_GCR, XEROX_DCxxxx-Medium_GCR,
or XEROX_DCxxxx-Light_GCR from the drop-box, depending
upon your desired output.
6. If you have accessed this option through Queue Manager, you
may also wish to set the override for this option, to apply your
settings to all jobs in the queue.
7. Select [Apply] to commit changes and remain in the Expert
Color window, [Cancel] to reject changes, or [OK] to commit
changes and exit.
