1. Open Queue Manager.
2. Double-click the queue you want to modify.
3. Select the PDL Settings tab.
4. Choose the PostScript/PDF FAB. See Using the PostScript/
PDF FAB for more information.
5. Use the Advanced PostScript FAB to select prescan options.
The system scans for requirements while the job is being
received which eliminates network delays. This maximizes
processing performance on the job.
Basic: Prescans to the first page of the job.
Full: Prescans to the end of the job. The advantage of this
selection is that more comments are seen ahead of
processing for purposes of Resource Based Scheduling.
6. Set TIFF Decomposer options by selecting the TIFF FAB. See
Setting TIFF Decomposer options using the TIFF FAB for
more information.
7. Set PCL FAB options. See Setting PCL options using the PCL
FAB for more information.
8. Select the ASCII FAB. See Using the ASCII FAB for more
information.
9. Select LCDS options using the LCDS FAB.
10. Select [OK], or continue setting queue properties.
Using the PostScript/PDF FAB
NOTE: If you do not have a valid PostScript license on the
system, you will not see a PostScript/PDF FAB.
To use the PostScript/PDF FAB:
1. Select a print quality from the Mode menu:
Normal
2. Select a queue resolution (dpi). Use the resolution option to
achieve better performance for jobs that were saved or
scanned at 300 dpi. Resolutions vary from printer to printer;
therefore, not all resolutions print exactly as expected.
3. If desired, select [Process Images at Half Resolution].
4. If desired, adjust advanced PostScript/PDF settings by
performing the following:
a. Select [Setup...].
b. Select a Halftone from the menu that corresponds toy your
Resolution selection.
c. Stroke Thickening is available for PostScript, TIFF, PCL,
and PDF formats. Adjust Stroke Thickening to control the
thickness of fine lines created by the PostScript stroke
command. The available range is located below the spin
