the [Default] checkbox below each selection.
7. Select [OK]. If you wish to change several or all of the module
preferences, make your changes once, select [Apply], then
select a different module. When you are done making all
changes, select [OK].
NOTE: A reboot of the DocuSP software is only necessary if
you have changed the language; a restart is not necessary for
the other settings to take effect.
Setting Up the Default Save Directory
Use the Save Preferences option to set the directory location on
the DocuSP controller that is used to store saved jobs. The Save
location may be an upper level directory with subdirectories for
each user or type of job.
The system default job save location on the DocuSP controller is /
var/spool. It is highly recommended that a more suitable location
be used, such as one of the optional additional drives available for
the DocuSP controller or an automount point.
NOTE: The directory structure and all necessary permissions
must be created using UNIX commands from a Terminal window
before the directory can be established as the Save location.
Saved jobs may be submitted for reprint from a client workstation
or from the Print Service.
To set up a default save directory:
1. Select [System Preferences...] from the DocuSP Setup menu.
2. Choose the Save tab.
3. Select the File Server Type, either [UNIX] or [PC]. The file
server type determines the format of the saved file names to
allow the files to be accessible by the client workstation.
4. When a job is saved, DocuSP checks if the name matches the
name of an existing job in the same destination. If the name
matches that of an existing job, the system applies the
selected Duplicate Job Name Resolution option. The system
proceeds according to the option selected, and does not stop
and wait for a user response.
