Using the Reposition Output feature
P r od u c t Na me Bo o k N am e
NOTE: Reposition Output is not available while the system is in
Secure Mode.
NOTE: Reposition Output is not available for IPDS jobs. While
DocuSP does not prevent you from selecting Reposition Output
options, the commands will not be honored and no warning
message will be provided.
To use Reposition Output:
1. While a job of the appropriate type is printing, select
[Reposition Output...] from the Printer menu. The Reposition
Output dialog will open showing you current job information
and spacing options.
2. Select [Pause] from the Printer Options area of the dialog. The
Job Information field presents print job data.
3. Input values in the Reposition Output dialog to space forward
or backward through the paused job for the desired number of
pages or sets.
Sets to Space: You can use this feature to reposition to
another "set" of your print job. For example: if you are
currently printing page 35 of set 5 you would enter –2 in
the Set field to reposition to page 35 of set 3.
Pages to Space: For example: a job with 20,000 pages
can be paused at page 10,001 and spaced backward (or
repositioned) to print page 9,050 with virtually no impact on
performance.
4. Upon receiving the message "Output has been spaced
successfully" the GUI will update with a new location.
5. If desired, select [Sample] to sample-print the next scheduled
page.
6. If the sample print is acceptable, select [Start Spacing] to
continue. To set Reposition Output on the next scheduled job
click the [Next Job] button. More Information...
Limitations of the Reposition Output feature:
Both N-1 and 1-N reposition is supported; however, the
GUI displays only 1-N status. The intended "long job"
target workflow makes 1-N usage more intuitive and
easier to use (compared to N-1).
Reposition Output is not available for IPDS jobs. While
DocuSP does not prevent you from selecting
Reposition Output options, the commands will not be
honored and no warning message will be provided.
Repositions on finished or subset finished jobs are not
supported.
