the exporting process.
a. If you intend to export files to media, load the target
medium into the appropriate drive.
b. Right-click the desired profile from the External Finishers
list and select [Export Profile...] from the menu. The Export
Finisher Profile dialog opens.
c. Use the Directory pull-down menu to indicate whether the
file should be exported to a location on your native file
system or media. Then use the directory tree to browse to
the specific location to which you wish to export the file.
The complete path appears in the Selection field.
d. Select each profile or device file name that you want to
export.
To select more than one profile: Press and hold down
the <CTRL> (Control) key while you select all the
desired file names.
To select multiple files that are adjacent to one another,
press and hold down the <SHIFT> key while selecting
the first and last file names you want to select. This
highlights the first and last file name lines and all lines
in between.
e. Select [OK]. The system confirms that the export was
successful, and the finisher profiles are saved in a file
based on the name of the finisher type with a ".f"
extension, for example, "SBM.f".
5. Exporting device profiles: It is a good idea to save a back-up
copy of your device profiles to avoid needing to reprogram
each setting in the event of a system upgrade or other
unforeseen event. The export feature gives you the capability
to save device profiles.
CAUTION: The files you export automatically overwrite files with
the same name that are stored in the same location. The system
does not display a message to inform you that the files are being
overwritten, nor are you given an opportunity to confirm or cancel
the exporting process.
