Restoring the System Disk files
The process to restore the system disk from CD-R is covered in
the Common Controller System Guide.
Restoring the configuration files
To restore the configuration files:
1. From the System menu select [Backup/Restore...].
2. Select [Restore Configuration...].
3. Select the file that will be used to restore the system. The file
can be located on a partition of the local disk or network file
system, or on media supported by the system, such as a
floppy disk, CD-RW, or tape drive.
4. Select a Host name from the Select Backup field.
5. From the Select Files field, select the files you want to restore.
6. Click [OK] to continue. A warning dialog opens indicating that
restoring the configuration from this archive will revert the
configuration to the settings in place at the time that the
archive was created. Click [OK] to begin the restore process.
Once the restore process is complete, an information window
opens which informs you that the restore configuration
completed successfully.
7. You must reboot the system for the changes to take effect.
NOTE: Error messages are recorded in the Backup/Restore Log.
The Backup and Restore utilities provide you with the ability to
back up the system configuration files. It displays the list of
software packages currently loaded on the DocuSP controller.
Each package is shown with the version number; tag (for feature
types: core feature, optional feature, licensed feature, or billable
feature); and time and date stamp.
Backing up the system configuration files
To backup the system configuration files:
1. From the System menu select [Backup/Restore...].
2. Select [Backup Configuration...].
3. From the Select Files list choose the file(s) you want to
backup. Select [All] to backup the complete list of system
configuration files.
4. Choose either the UNIX File System or the appropriate media
location from the Directory pull-down menu. If the backup file
will be stored in a UNIX file, select the directory location for the
