Selecting and Creating Security Profiles
P r od u c t Na me Bo o k N am e
Security Profiles control access to the system for individuals
belonging to any one of three main user account groups.
The three account groups are:
System Administrator (sa)
Machine Operator (if one is assigned)
User (Walk-up or Trusted).
Individual user accounts are set up by the System Administrator
from the User Accounts selection of the Setup menu.
Four Security Profiles named None, Low, Medium, and High are
factory supplied and are always available for selection as the
Current profile controlling system access. Although these factory-
supplied profiles cannot be edited or deleted, they can be copied
allowing new profiles to be created, edited, and selected by the
System Administrator for use as the Current Security Profile
controlling system access for logged on users.
Whenever a different profile is selected to be the Current profile,
this selection remains in effect, controlling system access, until a
new profile is chosen. One profile is also designated as the
Default profile. This Default profile can be selected as the Current
profile by selecting [Restore Default Profile].
Selecting the Current profile
To select the current security profile:
1. Logon to the DocuSP Controller as a System Administrator.
2. From the Setup menu select [Security Profiles...] to display the
Security Profiles window.
3. Select a Profile Name.
4. Right click on the highlighted table row corresponding to the
selected Profile Name.
5. Select [Set as Current]. The window informs you that the new
security profile will be applied immediately and it may take up
to 5 minutes for the operation to complete. To proceed, select
[Yes].
6. You are informed that the system must be shutdown for the
new settings to take affect. Select [OK] to close the window.
7. To shutdown now, select [Shutdown] from the System menu. If
you chose Shutdown later, note that a triangular warning
graphic is displayed in the Security Profiles window. When the
cursor over the graphic, a tool tip states that the Current
Profile has been changed since the last restart.
8. If you chose Shutdown later, when you are finished working
with Security Profiles, log off the system by selecting [Logoff]
from the Logon menu.
