8. A Line Termination command directs the printer to behave in
specified ways when Carriage Return (CR), Line Feed (LF),
and Form Feed (FF) commands are sent to it. Mainframe and
UNIX environments typically require some form of CR/LF/FF
adjustment.
This feature allows you to set a custom paper size which maps
to the PCL escape sequence <esc>&|101A (denoting "print on
custom stock size"). HP printers generally respond to this
command by imaging an area 11.7 x 17.7 inches and then
printing the image, centered, on the stock supplied.
NOTE: These settings change the PCL decomposer's default
line termination. This feature should not be used in a mixed
PCL and ASCII environment because PCL data streams can
include another line termination escape sequence which may
be undesirable. That type of job will again change the line
termination setting, possibly without the user's knowledge.
NOTE: Mainframe applications often have the ability to
change line termination settings. An adjustment at the
mainframe is always more desirable than using the DocuSP
line termination feature.
Select a Line Termination from the following:
No Translation (default option)
CR = CR+LF; LF = LF; FF = FF: This command string
specifies a Carriage Return to return to the left margin one
line below the current line; leaving Line Feed and Form
Feed defined in the classic manner.
CR = CR; LF = CR+LF; FF = CR+FF: This command
string specifies a Line Feed to increment one line plus
move to the left margin; also a Form Feed is specified to
feed to the next page and start at the left margin. Carriage
Return is defined in the classic manner.
CR = CR+LF; LF = CR+LF; FF = CR+FF: This command
specifies a Carriage Return to return to the left margin one
line below the current line; it also specifies a Line Feed to
return to the left and increment one line below the current
line. The Form Feed is specified to feed to the next page
and start at the left margin.
9. If desired, set advanced PCL settings. For more information,
click Setting PCL Advanced Options.
10. Select [OK] to close the dialog, or continue setting queue
options. Your selection will display on the PCL FAB.
