Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external
cables. See

Remove the following components in the sequence below.
a.
Remove the top cover. See
b.
Remove the PMB air baffle. See
c.
Remove the riser assembly. (Before disconnecting the cables of riser assembly, remove the
processor air baffle.) See

Depending on the model, remove the SMA assemblies or SMA fillers. See

Disconnect all the cables from the system board. While disconnecting the cables, make a list of
each cable and record the connectors the cable is connected to, and use the record as a cabling
checklist after installing the new system board.
Step 4.
Loosen the seven standoffs and two screws that secure the system board.
Note: Loosen the standoffs with a Phillips screwdriver or a flat-head screwdriver.
