Note: If necessary, after lifting the riser assembly, place the assembly on the top of the fan
modules for easier operation.
Step 4. Remove the processor air baffle. See
on page 110.
Step 5. If necessary, disconnect the riser assembly cables to remove the riser assembly from the node.
a. For the configuration with drive backplanes installed, disconnect the power cable from
Backplane 1.
b. Disconnect the cables from the system board; then, remove the riser assembly from the node.
After this task is completed
• To remove the components of the riser assembly, proceed to the section corresponding to the component
to be removed:
"Left wing of riser assembly" on page 231
– "M.2 assembly" on page 231
– "PCIe assembly" on page 234
– "Drive backplanes" on page 235
– "PCIe assembly + geotracking module" on page 236
