Juniper Control System (JCS) 1200 Platform Hardware Guide
Unpacking the JCS 1200 Platform
The platform is shipped in a cardboard box strapped securely to a wood pallet. Plastic
straps secure the top and bottom in place. The JCS 1200 chassis is bolted to this
pallet. Quick Start installation instructions and a cardboard accessory box are also
included in the shipping container.
The shipping container measures 32.5 in. (82.6 cm) high, 35 in. (88.9 cm) wide, and
27 in. (68.6 cm) deep. The total weight of the container containing the JCS 1200
platform and accessories can range from 329 lb (149.6 kg) to 350 lb (158.8 kg).
NOTE: The JCS 1200 platform is maximally protected inside the shipping crate. Do
not unpack it until you are ready to begin installation.

Move the shipping container to a staging area as close to the installation site as
possible, where you have enough room to remove the components from the
chassis. While the chassis is bolted to the pallet, you can use a forklift or pallet
jack to move it.
Position the shipping container with the wooden pallet on the bottom and the
corrugated cardboard facing up.
Remove the plastic straps that hold the top and bottom of the shipping container
in place.
Remove the corrugated container cover and set it aside.
Remove the foam covering the top of the JCS 1200 platform.
Remove the accessory box and the Quick Start documentation.
Verify the parts received against the lists in "Verifying Parts Received for the
JCS 1200 Platform" on page 41.
Remove the vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI) packs attached to the pallet. Be careful
not to break the VCI packs open.
To remove the bolts and screws from the brackets holding the chassis on the
pallet, use a 1/2-in. socket wrench and a number 2 Phillips screwdriver.
Store the brackets and bolts inside the accessory box.
Save the corrugated shipping container cover, pallet, and packing materials in
case you need to move or ship the JCS 1200 platform later. The packaging utilizes
recyclable materials in the design and should be disposed of properly. Recycle
packaging according to your local, state, or country specific laws and regulations.
