Replacing a JCS 1200 Chassis

To replace a chassis, you must remove components from the old chassis and install
them in the new chassis.

NOTE: Make sure each component is pulled out of the JCS 1200 platform at least
1 in. (2.54 cm).

Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and
connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Power off any Routing Engines in the JCS 1200 platform (see "Powering Off a
JCS 1200 Routing Engine" on page 74).
Disconnect the power from the JCS 1200 platform (see "Disconnecting Power
from the JCS 1200 Platform" on page 65).
Remove the following components from the front of the JCS 1200 platform:
Switch modules: Pull the handle on each switch module or filler to the open
position and remove the module or filler (see "Removing a JCS 1200 Switch
Module or Module Filler" on page 143).
Management modules: Pull the handle on each management module or filler
to the open position and remove the module or filler (see "Removing a
JCS 1200 Management Module or Module Filler" on page 124).
Disengage the following components from the JCS 1200 midplane using the
procedure indicated:
Routing Engines: Pull the two release handles on each Routing Engine to the
open position (see "Removing a JCS 1200 Routing Engine" on page 140).
Power modules: Pull the handle on each power module or filler to the open
position (see "Removing a JCS 1200 Power Module" on page 138).
Media tray: Pull the handle on each media tray or filler to the open position
(see "Removing a JCS 1200 Media Tray" on page 128).
Remove the fan shuttle from the JCS 1200 platform (see "Removing a JCS 1200
Fan Shuttle" on page 122).
