Serial connector—This DB-60 connector provides direct access to the serial ports
on each of the 12 Routing Engine bays. Use this connector to attach the optional
serial port breakout cable and connect up to 12 local consoles.
Telco alarm connector—The alarm panel module provides one DB-15 connector

Chapter 2: Hardware Component Overview
Description
Power is present in the JCS 1200 platform.
The power subsystem, the power module, or the LED has failed.
CAUTION: If the power-on LED is off, it does not mean that no
electrical current is present in the JCS 1200 platform. The LED
might be defective. To remove all electrical current from the
JCS 1200 platform, you must disconnect all power cords from
the rear power connectors.
Indicates that the LED has been turned on by the system
administrator, to aid in visually locating the JCS 1200 platform.
After the JCS 1200 platform has been located, you can have
the system administrator turn off the location LED.
The JCS 1200 platform has a critical system fault. A critical
system fault is an error or event that is detected by the system
and that has a significant impact to the system. In this case,
the system cannot continue to operate or is operating in a
nonredundant power or cooling configuration.
The JCS 1200 platform has a major system fault. The system
can continue to operate but may lose some functionality and
performance.
The JCS 1200 platform has a minor system fault. The system
can continue to operate, usually without noticeable loss of
functionality or performance.
It is safe to remove the alarm panel module from the JCS 1200
platform.
Indicates that there is a fault on the alarm panel module. The
system can continue to operate, usually without the use of the
components on the alarm panel module.
