To connect the Ethernet cable directly to the management module:

Connecting to the JCS 1200 Management Module Using a Console Serial Connection
To connect the management module to a console using a serial cable:

Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and
connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the management
module. See Figure 30 on page 68 for the location of input and output connectors
on the management module.
Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the network.
Check the Ethernet LEDs to make sure that the network connection is working.
A lit green Ethernet
through the port to the network.
A flashing green Ethernet activity (
through the port over the network link.
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and
connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the management
module. See Figure 30 on page 68 for the location of input and output connectors
on the management module.

computer.
