4. Install the reverse gear 7 and original
shim(s) 8 into the propeller shaft hous-
ing using a press.
NOTE:
• Be sure to select the reverse gear shim(s) if
replacing the propeller shaft housing, ball
bearing, or lower case.
• Be sure to select the propeller shaft shim if
replacing the reverse gear.
• To select the shims, see Chapter 6, "Shim-
ming (regular rotation model)."
• After installing the reverse gear and
shim(s), check that the reverse gear rotates
smoothly.
