2. Disconnect the flushing hose.
3. Remove the cooling water passage
cover bolts in the sequence shown.

Checking the cooling water passage
cover anode
1. Check the anodes. Clean if there are
scales, grease, or oil.
CAUTION:
Do not oil, grease, or paint the anodes,
otherwise they will be ineffective.
2. Replace
the
anodes
eroded.
Installing the cooling water passage
cover
1. Install the anodes 1 to the cooling water
passage cover 3.
Anode screw:
3 N·m (0.3 kgf·m, 2.2 ft·lb)

2. Install a new gasket 2 and the cooling
water passage cover 3.
3. Connect the cooling water hose 4 (cylin-
der block-to-fuel cooler) to the cylinder
block.
NOTE:
See the hose routing (4-3) and exploded dia-
gram (5-43).
4. Tighten the cooling water passage cover
bolts to the specified torque in the
sequence shown.
