Chapter 12
W310 WLAN Gateway Wireless Features
Rogue Access Point Status and Detection
This feature lets you enable or disable the LAP's ability to detect rogue AP's within the
network. If this feature is enabled, the LAP will deny service to any unauthorized AP. The
administrator can set how often the LAP will search the network for rogue APs.
The following are rogue AP CLI commands for the radio card context mode:
In order to...
Enable or disable rogue AP detection
Set the interval at which the radio card
will check for rogue APs
Load Balancing
The W310 lets you set load balancing for the LAP. This allows the distribution of
processing and communications activity evenly across the network so that no single LAP is
overwhelmed. This allows clients to evaluate which LAP to use based on the current LAP
loads. This ensures that communication will continue uninterrupted since transmissions are
forwarded to LAPs with more capacity.
Load balancing is turned off by default.
The following are load balancing CLI commands for the radio card context mode:
In order to...
Enable or disable load balancing
Set the maximum allowed transmission
processing time before moving to
another LAP
Set the maximum allowed transmission
time between adjacent LAPs
