Set the VLAN for the user group. This entry is only applicable if you specified in the
SSID Table that the VLAN is "by-user-group-table". When asked to reboot the LAPs,
type y for yes.
On bridged networks, you must configure each VLAN in Layer 2 before you assign VLANs
to the wireless network. This is done as follows:
- Use the set vlan CLI command, or
- Under the Device Manager tab, select Configure on the menu bar and then VLANs.
W310-1(super/User group engineering)# vlan 8
This command will reboot the LAP(s) - do you want to continue
(Y/N)?
d.
Assign a policy user group to the user group. This is the policy user group of a user
when searching for a matching rule in the ACL/QoS lists. You can also specify a policy
user group "by-ip-address".
Example
W310-1(super/User group engineering)# policy-user-group guests

e.
Assign the allowed Access Points for the user group. These are the LAPs that a user,
once logged on, can access.
— If "any" is specified as the allowed Access Point group, the users can associate with
any Access Point on the network.
— If the user group is not assigned to "any", and, a W110 (LAP) is not assigned to the
allowed Access Point group, then the user is rejected. The allowed Access Point
group is defined in AP Groups in Step 7.
— You can add or remove an AP Group that a user group can access with this
command.
Example
W310-1(super/User group engineering)# allowed-ap-list add
public-aps
Done!
f.
