LAP Configuration Using the W310 Manager

To change a LAP's default configuration, access the appropriate dialog described below.
LAP Template Configuration - View and modify the standard configuration template
for Wireless Light Access Point (LAP) units attached to the Avaya W310. To access this
dialog, do the following:
— To view the standard wireless configuration parameters of the LAPs attached to the
Avaya W310, click on the W310 device symbol in the Tree View. The LAP
Template Configuration dialog box opens to the 802.11a or 802.11g tab.
LAP Configuration - View and modify configuration information specific to Wireless
Light Access Point (LAP) units attached to the Avaya W310.
— To view the general wireless parameters of a LAP attached to the Avaya W310,
click on the desired LAP symbol in the Tree View. The LAP Device Configuration
dialog box opens to the General tab.
— To view the configuration of a LAP with an 802.11a-based or 802.11g-based radio
transceiver:

Radio Card Parameters

You can set the radio card parameters for cards that are inserted in an Access Point. The
W310 supports 802.11a and 802.11b/g radio cards. The following parameters can be set for
the radio cards:
Rogue Access Point Status and Detection
Load Balancing
Multicast Transmission Rates
Automatic
Radio Card

1. Click on the symbol for the LAP you wish to configure in the Tree View.
The Wireless Device Configuration dialog box opens to the General tab.
2. Click Advanced. The Advanced - 802.11a or 802.11g tab of the Wireless
Device Configuration dialog box appears.
