Logging in to the Juniper Series Router

1. At the login prompt, type root and press Enter.
2. At the password prompt, enter the password. The password should be set by the
Disk-on-Key configuration file. Your project manager must give you this password.
You are now logged in at the UNIX command line (%).

If, for some reason, a password was not set with the Disk on Key, you can login

the configuration. Check with your Project Manager to get the password.

1. Obtain an optional login and password from the customer. This login is to be used to access
the router from the TGM550 with the session chassis command and as a services login to
the router.
2. At the configure prompt (#), type set system login user <user_name> class
super-user, where <user_name> is the user login to the router from TGM550.
3. Respond to the password prompts.
4. At the configure prompt (#), type set system login user <user_name>
authentication plain-text-password.
5. At the two password prompts, enter the password.
