W310 WLAN Gateway Wireless Features

Unicast Transmission Rate

Unicast transmission rate specifies the rate at which unicast transmissions are received by
the LAP. A unicast transmission is the traditional method for sending data over a network to
a single network node. This setting is dependent on what transmission rates the wireless
interface supports.
Note: Changes in operational mode of the W310 802.11g-template will reset multicast rates
to factory default.

Channel Selection

The LAP scans the wireless network for other Access Points and selects a free or relatively
unused communication channel. This helps prevent interference problems and increases
network performance. By default this feature is enabled.
You can configure which frequency bands that you want to scan as part of the automatic
channel selection process. The following lists the bands and channels for each selection:
lower - middle U-NII Lower Band equals 5.15 to 5.25 GHz (channels 36, 40, 44, 48),
and, U-NII Middle Band equals 5.25 to 5.35 GHz (channels 52, 56, 60, 64)
lower - middle - high - U-NII Lower Band equals 5.15 to 5.25 GHz (channels 36, 40,
44, 48), U-NII Middle Band equals 5.25 to 5.35 GHz (channels 52, 56, 60, 64), and, U-
NII Upper Band equals 5.725 to 5.825 GHz (channels 149, 153, 157, 161)
