Chapter 12
W310 WLAN Gateway Wireless Features
— WiFi Protected Access - Pre-Shared Key (WPA-PSK) - does not require a RADIUS
server. WPA-PSK is a simplified but still powerful form of WPA that sets a static
key or "pass phrase" as with WEP. But, using TKIP, WPA-PSK automatically
changes the keys at a preset time interval.

Configuring an SSID Entry

Assign an SSID to a specific W110 (LAP) using the ssid CLI command. Several
parameters must be configured to meet the specific operating environments. In the example
that follows:
An SSID named "lobby" is created and assigned to physical port 1 on the W310.
Once the SSID is assigned, operation in a low security environment does not require a
"closed system" or the suppression of the SSID in "broadcast" beacons. Using the
following CLI, the closed system is disabled and broadcast is enabled.
Security mode level will use the default "none". For the security mode settings, see
Authentication and Encryption
table entry to verify security-mode none.
Example
W310-1(super)# ssid lobby
W310-1(super/SSID lobby)# vlan 1
W310-1(super/SSID lobby)# closed-system accept-any
W310-1(super/SSID lobby)# broadcast transmit
W310-1(super/SSID lobby)# exit
W310-1(super)#show ssid
