CAUTION:
Take special care so that water pump seals #1
and #2 are not scratched when installing
them. Replace any scratched seal.
THERMOSTATIC VALVE
Operation
The thermostatic valve is installed in the
water pump cover and automatically opens
and closes the cooling circuit to regulate the
coolant flow depending on the engine tem-
perature. When the engine is cool, the thermo-
static valve main valve is closed, but the by-
pass valve is open. Therefore, the coolant does
not flow into the radiator but flows through
the bypass hose. Further, it flows through the
bypass valve into the water pump, by which
the coolant is pumped to the engine cylinder
water jackets. (Fig. 1)

Fonctionnement
Le thermostat est situe dans le couvercle de
pompe
a
eau et ouvre et ferme au tomatique-
ment le circuit de refroidissement pour reguler
le debit du liquide de refroidissement en fonc-
tion de la temperature du moteur. Quand le
moteur est froid, le clapet principal du ther-
mostat est ferme mais le clapet de derivation
est ouvert. Par consequent, le liquide de re-
froidissement ne circule pas dans le radiateur
mais circule dans le tuyau de derivation.

No. 1 y 2 de la bomba de agua no se hallen
rayados al instalarlos.

Funcionamiento
La valvula termostatica se halla instalada en la
cubierta de la bomba de agua y abre y cierra
automaticamente el circuito refrigerante para
regular la circulaci6n de este de acuerdo con
la temperatura de! motor. Cuando el motor
esta frfo, la valvula termostatica esta cerrada
y la valvula de derivaci6n abierta.
Par lo
tanto, el refrigerante no fluye por esta valvula
hacia la bomba de agua, mediante la cual es
impulsado hacia !as camisas de agua de!
cilindro de! motor. (Fig. 1)
