Since the software reads the .cshrc file at login, you must log out, then in again:

Automatic rollover is now enabled and saved in the system software, and will
subsequently be enabled automatically at startup of the NMP processes.
When an automatic call accounting file rollover occurs, a message will be sent to the
printer, just as if you had performed the operation manually.
To disable automatic rollover and return to manual operation, you essentially reverse
what you did to enable it.
