Two types:
FRX8000 INM (Integrated Network Manager) is an FRX8000 Switch and
network manager in the same box.
NMP is a stand-alone manager, connected to the network via an attached
Nucleus 7000 (N7400/N7500) node.
Nucleus 7000 Release 5.0 is supported in the current release of
FRX8000, to allow a smooth transition of existing N7000 net-
works to FRX8000.
Intuitive, menu-based system that provides complete local management (via
local VGA monitor or remote ASCII terminal) of network nodes
File transfer between INMs/NMPs, and from an INM or NMP to an ICP. (ICP
is an FRX8000 Switch with all the functionality of the INM except the user
interface)
Remote software updates to FRX8000 Switches
Self-learning route configuration
Centralized alarm routing
Statistics displays
Support of get, get_next, and (for some fields) set commands from SNMP
manager, providing topology information and node status
FTP and telnet access to ICPs, INMs, and NMPs
MIB II (RFC 1213) System & Interfaces Group, plus parts of frame relay
(RFC1315) and SDLC (RFC1747) MIBs
Enterprise network status information via local MIB on node
