IGNITION SYSTEM INSPECTION
NOTE :
• If there is no spark al the plug, c heck all connec-
tions for loose or poor contact before measuring
the peak voltage.
• Use the recommended digital m ulti meier or a
commercially available d igital mult imet er wi t h
an impedance of 10 MnJOCV minim um.
• The display value differs depending upon the
internal impedance of the multimeter.

NOTE:
• Check all system connections before t his inspec-
tion. Poor connected connectors can cause incor-
rect readings.
• Check t he cylinder compression and check that
t he spark plug is i nst alled correctly in t he cyli n-
der head.
Remove the fue l tank sid e cover (page 3-4).
Disconnect the spark plug cap from the spark plug .
Connect a known -gOOd spark plug to the spark plug
cap and ground the spark plug to the cylinder head
as done in a spark test.
