SUB-TRANSMISSION/GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
Apply oil to new a · rings and install them into the
groov8 of the gearshift spindle.
Apply grease to the gearshift spindle and gearshift
arm.
Install the gearshift arm into the housing with its
short claw side facing the gearshift fork shaft.
Install the gearshift spindle while aligning its punch
mark with the wide spline in the gear shih arm.
Install the washer onto the gearshift spindle and
secure it with the snap ring.

Install the countershaft, reverse idle gear/shah and

gearshift fork/shaft as an assembly.
Install the mainshaftlgear.

Install the output shaft, washer and final driven gear
as an assembly.
Install the rear crankcase cover (page 12·9).
