PROBLEM CODE 7: ESP SHIFT SWITCH
SYSTEM
1. ESP Shift Switch Co nnection Inspection
Check for loose or poor contact on the ECM 34P
(Black) connector.
Check for loose or poor cont act on the handlebar
switch lOP (Green) connector.
Is there norma' condition?
NO - Loose or poor contact on the ECM 34P
(Black) connector and the handlebar
switch lOP (Green) connector
YES - GO TO STEP 2.
2. ESP Shift Switch Line Inspect ion

Is there normal continuity?
No - GO TQ STEP 3.
YES - GO TO STEP 5.
3. ESP Shift Switch Condition Insp&ction
Rem ove the handlebar swi tch (page 22-8),
Check for water, mud and other foreign material
inside the switch.

NO - Clean inside the switch
YES - GO TO STEP 4.
