Remove the lock nut using the special tool.

Install the special tools onto the pinion gear shaft
and gear case.
TOOLS:
Pinion puller base
Shaft puller
Special nut

Pull the pinion gear assemblv out of the gear case.
PINION GEAR BEARING/SHIM
REPLACEMENT
Pull the pinion bearing from the shaft with a com -
merciallv available bearing puller.
Remo ve the pi nion gear shim.

Install the shim and new bearing onto the pinion
