CAMSHAFT INSTALLATION
Make sure the .l:ey
groove on the
crankshaft
IS
facing
up and parral/e/ with
the cylinder dtud
""ft.
Apply a locking agent to the cam chain tensioner
pivot bolt threads.
Install the cam chain tensioner and tighten the piv-
vat bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 12 N 'm (1.2 kgf·m, 9 Ibf.ft )
Lubricate the camshaft bearings and cam chain with
engine oil.
Apply molvbdenum oil soluti on to the cam lobes.
Turn the crankshaft and place the crankshaft
TDe
(Top Dead Center).
Install the cam chain ont o the cam sprocket.
Do
not rum the Install the camshafUcamchain while alinging the
crankshaft while
timing mark "350" on the cam sprocket with the
Installing.
index mark on the crankcase.
After installation, make sure the timing mark ("350·
punch mark) is aligned with the index mark on the
crankcase.
Apply a locking agent to the camshaft bearing
retaining bolt threads.
Install the camshaft bearing retaining plate and
tighten the bolt.
