ENGINE LACKS POWER
1. Drive Train Ins pection
Raise wheel off the grou nd and spin by hand.
Does the w heel spin freely?
NO _ . Brake dragging
• Worn or damaged wheel bearing
• Damaged diffe rential or final drive bearing
• Faulty differential or fi naf drive
YES - GO TO STEP 2.

Pressure Inspection
Check tire pressure.
Are the tire pressures low ?
YES _ . Faulty tire valve
• Punctured tire
NO - GO TO STE P 3.
3. Engine Co ndit ion Inspection
Accelerate lightly.
Does the Bogina speed
increase ?
NO _ . Fuel/air mixture too rich or lean
• Clogged air cleaner
• Restricted f uel flow
• Clogged muffler
• Restricted fuel fill cap breather
YES - GO TO STEP 4.
4. Engine Condition Inspection
Accelerate or run at high speed.
Is there knocking?
YES _ . Worn piston and cylinder
• Use of poor quality fuel
• Excessive ca rbon build-up in combustion chamber
• Ignition timing too advance !Faulty ECM)
• lean fuel mixt ure
NO - GO TO STEP

5. Ig nition TIming Inspection
Check the ignit ion t iming .
Is th e ignition timing correct?
NO _ . Faulty engine control module (EeM)
• Faulty ignition pulse generat or
YES - GO TO STEP 6.
6. Cylinder Compression Inspection
Test cylinder compression.
Is the compression lo w ?
YES _ . Valve clearance too small
• Valve stuck open
• Worn cylinder and piston ri ngs
• Damaged cylinder head gasket
• Seized valve
• Improper valve t iming
NO - GO TO STEP 7.
