Adjust by loosening the lock nut and turning the
adjusting screw until there is a slight drag on the
feeler gauge.
Hold the adjust ing screw and tighten the lock nut to
the specified torque.
TORQUE:
17 N 'm
(1.7
kgf·m. 12 Ibf·ft)
After tightening the lock nut, recheck the valve
clearance.
Coat new O·rings with engine oil and install them
into the grooves in the tappet adjusting hole caps.
Installlhe tappet adjusting hole caps and tighten Ihe
caps

Coat a new O-ring with engine oil and install it onto
the timing hole cap.
Install the tim ing hole cap and tighten it to the spec-
ified torqu e.
TORQUE: 10 N'm (1.0 kgf·m, 7 Ibf.ft)
Install the right center mud guard (page 3-11) and
carburetor side cover (page 3·4).
Install the heat guard , fuel tank and snorkel (page 6-
28).
