4. GPS RECEIVER REPLACEMENT
Replace the receiver with a known good one and , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ,
recheck the GPS indicator after 5 minutes when
turning the ignition switch ON.
Is the GPS indicator still blinking?
YES - Faulty combination m eter
NO - Faulty o riginal GPS receiver
GPS START·UP TIME IS TAKING TOO LONG
1. GPS SYSTEM RESET
Disconnect and reconnect the battery negative H
cable.
Turn the ignition switch ON and wait until GPS
system start-up, then turn the ignition swit ch
OFF and ON .
Does the GPS stsrt-up within 30 seconds .,
YES - No problem (Temporary failure)
NO - GO TO STEP 2.
2. GPS RECEIVER BACKUP VOLTAGE INSPECTION
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Remove the combination meter assembly (page
22-12),
Disconnect the GP$ receiver 6P (Natural) con-
nector.
Mesure the voltage at the meter side connector
terminal and ground.
Connection ; Black/blue
(+) -
Ground (-)

Is there about 5 V 7
YES - Faulty GP$ receiver
NO - . Open or short circuit on the Blackl
blue wire

REMOVALIINSTALLA TION
Remove the combination meter assembly and , - - - -- -- - - - - - - - - - - - - ,
remove the meter bracket (page 22-12).
Disconnect the receiver 6P (Natural) connector.
Remove the receiver mounting bolts and receiver.
