lock after only light
tightening

Apply locking agent to the th reads of the two 10 mm
bolts.
Install the bolts and lighten them in several sleps
until the cover evenly touches the gear case. Then,
while rotating the pinion gear, tighten the bolts to
the specified torque in a crisscross pattern in sev-
eral steps.
TORQUE:
10 mm
bolt: 49 N·m (5.0 kgf.m , 36Ibf.tt)
8 mm bolt: 25 N'm (2.6 kgf·m, 19 Ibf.ft)
Make sure that the gear assembly rotates smoothly
without binding.

Apply molybdenum disulfide g rease to the seal rub-
bers.
Apply 5 - 8 9 of molybdenum disulfide grease to t he
propeller shah joint splines.
Set the spring and propeller shah joint onto the pro-
peller shah.
Install the boot over the propell er shah joint while
compressing the spring.
Install the boot band into the boot groove.
