SEATS
Removal/Installation
Refer to Figure 1.
1. Remove the passenger seat nut (A, Figure 2)
from the fender stud.
2. Pull the passenger seat rearward (B, Figure 2)
until the seat tang disengages from the seat bracket
(A, Figure 3), and remove the passenger seat.
3. On XVS1100 models, perform the following:
a. Remove the seat bracket bolts and remove the
seat bracket (A, Figure 3).
b. Pull the rider's seat rearward until the seat
tangs disengage from the fuel tank bracket
(Figure 4), and remove the seat.
4. On XVS1100A models, perform the following:
a. Remove the seat bolt (B, Figure 3) from the
rider's seat.
b. Pull the riders seat rearward until the seat
tangs disengage from the fuel tank bracket
(Figure 4), and remove the seat.
c. If necessary, remove the seat bracket bolts
and remove the seat bracket (A, Figure 3).
5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
a. Slide the rider's seat forward until its tangs
(Figure 5) engage the tank bracket.
b. Torque the seat bracket bolts to 7 N•m (62
in.-lb.).
CHAPTER FOURTEEN

FRAME

c. Torque the rider's seat bolt to 7 N•m (62
in.-lb.) on models so equipped.
d. Slide the passenger seat forward until its tang
(Figure 6) engages the seat bracket (B, Fig-
ure 3).
e. Torque the passenger seat nut to 7 N•m (62
in.-lb.).
Removal/Installation
1. Remove the rider and passenger seats as de-
scribed in this chapter.
2. Remove the fuel tank as described in Chapter
Eight.
3. Release each push pin (A, Figure 7) by pressing
the center pin.
4. Remove the push pins and lift the ignitor panel
(B, Figure 7) from the frame.
5. Set the ignitor plate onto the frame.
6. Install each push pin as follows:
a. From the locking side of the fastener, push the
center pin until it extends out from the fas-
tener head.
b. Insert the push pin through the panel and
frame mounts.
