18. Remove the removable frame member as
follows:
a. Remove the nuts from the upper frame mem-
ber bolts (Figure 13) and remove the bolts.
b. Remove the lower frame member bolts (B,
Figure 3) and lift the removable frame mem-
ber from the frame.
19. Remove the rear upper engine mounting bolt
(C, Figure 3) from the right side and remove the nut
(D, Figure 3) from the through bolt.
20. Remove the rear upper engine mounting bolt
(A, Figure 14) and pull the through bolt (B) from
the right side.
21. Remove the engine bracket bolts (C and D,
Figure 14). Lower the upper and lower engine
brackets from the frame.
22. Make sure all cables, wires and hoses are dis-
connected from the engine and safely moved out of
the way.
23. Remove the cylinder head bracket bolts (B,
Figure 10) from each side of the frame.
24. Lower the engine slightly and tilt it to the right.
25. Turn the cylinder head nuts (A, Figure 10) off
the studs and remove the cylinder head bracket (C)
from the head studs. The engine cannot be removed
with this bracket in place.
WARNING
The engine is very heavy and has
many sharp edges. It may shift or drop
suddenly once the mounting bolts are
removed. Never place your hands or
any other part of your body where the
engine could drop and crush your
hands or arms. One or more assis
tants will be required to remove the
engine from the frame. Do not attempt
engine removal by yourself.
