7. Remove the cotter pin (A, Figure 35) and
washer. Remove the throttle arm (B, Figure 35)
from the throttle shaft on the front carburetor.
8. Remove the mounting screw (A, Figure 36) and
lift the choke linkage (B) from the starter plunger on
the rear carburetor.
9. Remove the front carburetor (C, Figure 36)
from the bracket/rear carburetor assembly.
Joining
1. Set the rear carburetor/bracket assembly (Figure
37) on the bench.
2. Position the front carburetor (C, Figure 36) next
to the bracket.
3. Install the choke linkage (B, Figure 36) onto the
rear carburetor so the linkage fingers engage the
starter plunger. Secure the linkage to the carburetor
with the mounting screw (A, Figure 36).
4. Slide the throttle arm (B, Figure 35) onto the
front carburetor throttle shaft. Install the washer and
secure the arm in place with a new cotter pin (A,
Figure 35).
5. Press the front carburetor toward the carburetor
bracket until the front carburetor seats within the
connector tubes (Figure 34).
6. Install the bracket bolts (Figure 33) and secure
the front carburetor to the bracket.
7. Connect the connectors to the carburetor heater
(A, Figure 32) and the heater ground (B) on the rear
carburetor.
8. Secure the wires in the clamp (C, Figure 32) on
the float bowl.
9. Connect the connector (A, Figure 31) to the car-
buretor heater on the front carburetor.
10. Secure the wires to the bracket with new the ca-
ble ties (B, Figure 31).
Disassembly
Refer to Figure 38.
Disassemble, clean and reassemble one carbure-
tor at a time. This will prevent the accidental mixing
of parts.
CAUTION
When cleaning a carburetor, do not
adjust the pilot screw. Refer to Pilot
Screw in this chapter.

1. If the coasting enricher (A, Figure 39) or starter
plunger (B) requires service, separate the carbure-
tors as described in this chapter.
2. Unscrew and remove the starter plunger (B, Fig-
ure 39).
3. Disassemble the coasting enricher as follows:
a. Remove the two mounting screws (C, Figure
39) and lift the coasting enricher cover (A)
from the carburetor body.
b. Remove the spring (A, Figure 40) and the
coasting enricher diaphragm (B).
