8. Install the float pin (B, Figure 51) and secure it
with the screw (A).
9. Install a new float bowl O-ring (Figure 50) and
set the float bowl onto the bottom of the carburetor
(B, Figure 49). Secure the float bowl in place with
the mounting screws (A, Figure 49).
10. Install the carburetor heater (A, Figure 48) and
its washer. If working on the rear carburetor, install
the washer and ground terminal (B, Figure 48) over
the carburetor heater threads, then install the carbu-
retor heater.
11. Install pilot air jet No. 1 (Figure 47) into the
carburetor horn.
12. Install pilot air jet No. 2 (B, Figure 44) into the
vacuum piston bore.
13. Install a new O-ring (A, Figure 44) onto the top
of the vacuum piston bore.
14. Assemble the vacuum piston, if it was disas-
sembled, as follows:
a. Lower the jet needle (Figure 46) into the vac-
uum piston.
b. Secure the needle in place with the needle re-
tainer (Figure 45).
15. Lower the vacuum piston (Figure 60) into the
slide bore so the piston diaphragm sits within the lip
on top of the bore.
16. Install the spring (A, Figure 43) into the vac-
uum piston.
17. Install the top cover (C, Figure 41) and secure
it in place with the mounting screws (A).
a. Make sure the post (A, Figure 61) inside the
top cover sits inside the spring.
b. When working on the rear carburetor, install a
collar into the outboard mounting position
(Figure 42), and secure the choke cable
bracket (B, Figure 41) with the top cover
mounting screw (A).
