2. Install a 5/16"-18 threaded slide hammer bolt or J

21904-1 into bolt hole (see Fig. 7E-28 for location).

3. Mount Dial Indicator J 8001 on rod and index

indicator to register with end of turbine shaft.

4. Push turbine shaft rearward.

5. Push output shaft forward.

6. Set dial indicator to Zero.

7. Pull turbine shaft forward.

8. Read resulting travel or end play. Should be .003"

9. Selective washer controlling this end play is the

washer located between pump cover and forward

clutch housing. If more or less washer thickness is

required to bring end play within specifications, select

proper washer from the following chart:
