REPLACE SWITCH, LOCK CYLINDER OR FREE UP
LOCK CYLINDER
Refer to STEERING SECTION, Section 9, for ignition
switch and lock cylinder repair procedures.
SPARK PLUGS
PERIODIC SERVICE
Periodically (actual time depending on operating
conditions) plugs should be removed for cleaning,
inspection and regapping.
REMOVE
1. Remove spark plug wires.

2. Remove any foreign matter from around spark

plugs by blowing out with compressed air.
3. Using a 13/ 16" spark plug socket, remove the spark
plugs.
INSPECT
Spark plug life is governed to a large extent by
operating conditions and plug life varies accordingly.
To insure peak performance, spark plugs should be
checked, cleaned and regapped every 12 months or
12,000 miles.
Worn or dmy plugs may give satisfactory operation at
idling speed, but under operating conditions they
frequently fail. Faulty plugs are evident in a number
