Spare Tire/Inflator Kit

(if equipped)
G8 models are equipped with a compact
spare tire located under the trunk floor.
G8 GT and GXP models are equipped
with a tire sealant and inflator kit, which
can be used to seal small punctures in
the tread area of a tire. The kit is located
under the trunk floor. Refer to the tire
sealant and inflator kit instructions for
complete operating information.
See Vehicle Service and Care in your Owner Manual.

Battery Location

The vehicle battery is located behind
an access panel on the driver's side of
the trunk.
Jump start positive and negative posts
are located under the hood on the driv-
er's side of the vehicle.
See Vehicle Service and Care in your Owner Manual.

Resetting the Oil Life System

The Oil Life System calculates engine oil
life based on vehicle use and displays
the SERVICE ENGINE OIL message
when it's necessary to change your
engine oil and filter. This is based on
engine operation and driving conditions,
not mileage. The Oil Life System should
be reset to 100% only following an oil
change.
To reset the Oil Life System:
1. Turn the ignition key to Run with the
engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelera-
tor pedal slowly three times within
five seconds.
3. Turn the key to Lock.
See Vehicle Service and Care in your Owner Manual.

Refueling the Vehicle

The fuel door is located on the pas-
senger's side. It will not open if the
vehicle is locked.
• To open the fuel door, press the
center of the rear edge of the door
and it will pop open slightly. Pull the
door to open it fully.
• When closing the fuel door, press the
center of the rear edge of the door
until it latches and is flush with the
side of the vehicle. It will not close
if the vehicle is locked.
For maximum performance, premium
fuel is recommended for vehicles
equipped with the V8 engine.
See Driving and Operating in your Owner Manual.

Winter Tires

Your vehicle features rear-wheel drive
and may be equipped with "summer
only" performance tires that offer
excellent handling on dry roads.
However, during winter months, it's
recommended to switch to winter tires
that will provide additional traction in
poor weather conditions. See your
Pontiac dealer for information about
recommended winter tires.
