To set the configuration register when the router is in ROM monitor mode, use the confreg command in
ROM monitor mode. For example, the following commands set the configuration register to 0x2102, so
that the router boots the Cisco IOS software. The reset command then reboots the router.
rommon 21 > confreg 0x2102
