Lower Section Components Replacement Procedures

NOTE: When replacing Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N lower section components, after removal of the system covers
(left and right sides; front), the cabinet cage assembly should be removed from the main assembly (to
gain access to the internal components) and placed on a stable surface. These steps are described in
the procedure below.

8-6-1-2 Preparation
Shut down the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N ultrasound unit, as described in
page 4-7.
8-6-1-3 Cabinet Cage Assembly Opening and Removal Procedure
1) Remove the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N left and right side covers, as described in the
Removal Procedure" on page 8-6
2) Remove the Vivid S5 N or Vivid S6 N front cover, as described in the
Procedure" on page
3) Undo the two fastening latches on the left side of the cabinet cage assembly and carefully swing
the cage door to the open position
4.) Place the end of the securing hook into the hole on the top of the cage door to fasten the door in
the open position (see

EVISION
When performing these procedures, take precautions to avoid damage of
electrostatic-sensitive components. Always have the ESD wrist strap
connected either to the DIB chassis or to the GND plug at the rear of the
scanner, and to your hand.
If a battery is present, first remove the battery as it contains stored energy.
Refer to "Battery Removal Procedure" on page
8-17.
