2.2.1 Installing the reservoir bottles

Use standard reservoir bottles (30 mL) for instrument setup and calibration. Use the Low-volume
Adaptor Kit (included) to infuse smaller volumes. The low-volume vials have a volume of 1.5 mL.
Optionally, you can use a 250-mL bottle in Fluidics port B, to infuse larger volumes of LockSpray
solution.
Note:
For correct operation of the Fluidics system, solvent delivery tubing must approach, but
not touch, the bottom of each reservoir bottle. To ensure that an appropriate length of solvent
delivery tubing protrudes from the Fluidics panel, adjust the tubing entering the labeled channels
from the valves of the fluidics system.
Required materials
• Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
To install the reservoir bottles:
1. Remove the reservoir bottle caps.
2. Screw each bottle onto the mass spectrometer.
