Requirement:

respectively, before initiating the automated setup (see
(Page 24)).
To ensure accurate m/z and CCS measurements, a calibration test runs automatically before
each injection to confirm that calibrations are valid. If the calibration test produces a failing result,
the analysis stops, or UNIFI software issues an alert and completes the analysis, depending on
the option selected in the analysis method.

1.1.2 ACQUITY Vion IMS QTof UPLC/MS systems

The Waters Vion IMS QTof is compatible with the following systems:
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class, and H-Class Bio
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
• ACQUITY PREMIER
The ACQUITY Vion IMS QTof UPLC/MS system includes an ACQUITY UPLC system. The
Waters Vion IMS QTof is fitted with either the LockSpray ESI/APCI source or the NanoLockSpray
source (with ACQUITY UPLC M-Class only).
Notes:
• Support for the ACQUITY M-Class UPLC for NanoLockSpray ESI is available only with the
UNIFI v1.8.2 driver.
• References to the ACQUITY H-Class, H-Class Bio, and I-Class Systems and modules also
pertain to the Series Systems. References to the binary solvent manager (BSM), quaternary
solvent manager (QSM), and sample manager (SM, both FTN or FL) also pertain to the PLUS
variants.
1.1.2.1 Waters ACQUITY Vion IMS QTof UPLC system
The ACQUITY UPLC I-Class system and the ACQUITY UPLC H-Class system both include a
binary or quaternary solvent manager, sample manager, column heater, detectors, and a
specialized ACQUITY UPLC column. Waters informatics software controls the system.
