Running the mass spectrometer at high flow rates

The ACQUITY UPLC system runs at high flow rates. To optimize desolvation,
and thus sensitivity, run the ACQUITY Xevo TQ-S system at appropriate gas
flows and desolvation temperatures. IntelliStart software automatically sets
these parameters when you enter a flow rate, according to the following table.
Flow rate versus temperature and gas flow:
Flow rate
(mL/min)
0.000 to 0.020
0.021 to 0.100
0.101 to 0.500
>0.500

Caution:
store large volume solvent reservoirs on top of the instrument.

Installing the reservoir bottles

Use standard reservoir bottles (30-mL) for instrument setup and calibration.
Use the Low-volume Adaptor Kit (included) to infuse smaller volumes. The
low-volume vials have a volume of 1.5 mL.
