CAUTION
Always cut the paint with a knife and grind the paint edge when disassembling
parts. See
Cut the paint or surface on the robot before replacing parts on page
Action
DANGER
If the robot normally works in an inverted position,
it must be removed from this position and placed
on the floor before the work detailed in this pro-
cedure may be carried out!
DANGER
Turn off all electric power, hydraulic and pneumat-
ic pressure supplies to the robot!
ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD)
The unit is sensitive to ESD. Before handling the
unit read the safety information in section

Remove the push-button guard from the base
cover.
Remove the base cover carefully in order not to
strain any cabling. The brake release board is
fastened to the cover.
CAUTION
Clean cover from metal residues before opening.
Metal residues can cause shortage on the boards
which can result in hazardous failures.
Take a picture or make notes of how the robot
cabling is positioned in regard to the brake release
board.
